Yogurt Truffles

Yogurt truffles are fresh and tempting sweets, very simple to prepare. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 250 g of Greek yogurt (or thick white yogurt)
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 200 g of dry biscuits (such as Digestive)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder as needed to roll the truffles
  • Flavoring to taste (vanilla, lemon, orange, etc.)
  • Chopped nuts or chocolate chips for the mixture (optional)

Preparation

  1. Start by finely crushing the dry biscuits until you get a sort of flour; you can do this with a mixer or by placing them in a bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin.
  2. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with the powdered sugar and the chosen flavoring until you obtain a smooth cream.
  3. Add the crushed biscuits to the yogurt cream and mix well to combine. If you like, you can also add some chopped nuts or chocolate chips for an extra touch.
  4. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, so that it hardens and is easier to handle.
  5. After the resting time, use a teaspoon to take portions of the mixture and form small balls with your hands.
  6. Roll the balls in the unsweetened cocoa powder until evenly coated.
  7. Place the truffles on a plate or tray and put them back in the refrigerator for at least another hour before serving.

Curiosity

Yogurt truffles are an excellent alternative to more classic chocolate sweets for those looking for something light but equally delicious. They arose from the desire to experiment with yogurt and simple, readily available ingredients, creating a sweet that doesn’t require baking and is also suitable as a summer snack.
