Yogurt Biscuits
17/11/2023Yogurt biscuits are a delicious variation of the classic soft and light cookie. Here’s a simple recipe to make them.
Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 125 g of sugar
- 80 g of soft butter
- 1 egg
- 125 g of white yogurt (preferably whole)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- Grated zest of 1 lemon (for flavoring)
- A pinch of salt
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the soft butter with the sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and continue mixing to blend the ingredients well.
- Incorporate the yogurt and grated lemon zest into the mixture, mixing thoroughly.
- In another bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones and work the dough until it is homogeneous. If it’s too sticky, you can add a bit of flour until you achieve the desired consistency.
- Take small portions of dough and form into small discs or balls that you will slightly flatten.
- Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving a little space between each one.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on a rack before serving.
Curiosity
If you opt for Greek yogurt, you will get denser and richer biscuits, while if you choose a more liquid yogurt, the result will be fluffier and lighter biscuits. You can also customize this recipe by adding chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or other flavors to taste to give a unique touch to your biscuits.
