Yogurt Cake with Chocolate Chips

Ingredients

  • 1 pot of natural yogurt (125g) (use the empty pot as a measure)
  • 3 pots of flour
  • 2 pots of sugar
  • 1 pot of seed oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanillin (or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract)
  • 150 g of chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter and flour a cake tin (or line it with parchment paper).
  2. In a sufficiently large bowl, break the eggs and add the sugar. Whip with an electric mixer until you have a light and fluffy mixture.
  3. Add the yogurt and oil, mixing gently with a spoon or a spatula.
  4. In another bowl, combine the sifted flour with the baking powder, vanillin, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the liquid mixture, mixing well to avoid lumps.
  6. To prevent the chocolate chips from settling at the bottom during baking, briefly toss them in flour, then fold them into the mixture, stirring gently.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and level the surface with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
