Yogurt and Berry Cups

Yogurt and berry cups are a fresh and light dessert, perfect for concluding a meal or as a healthy snack. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 250 g of Greek yogurt or natural yogurt
  • 200 g of mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon of granola or crunchy cereal (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Preparation

  1. If you prefer fresh berries, gently wash and dry the fruit. If you choose frozen ones, thaw them in advance and allow them to drain well.
  2. In each cup, place a layer of yogurt as the base. You can choose between Greek yogurt, for a richer and creamier texture, or natural yogurt if you prefer a lighter consistency.
  3. Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the yogurt. Gently mix the different types of berries to create a visually pleasing effect and to ensure that each spoonful offers a burst of different flavors.
  4. If you like a touch of sweetness, drizzle the berries with honey or maple syrup to taste.
  5. To add crispiness to the cup, sprinkle a tablespoon of granola or crunchy cereal on top.
  6. Decorate with fresh mint leaves for a touch of color and freshness.
  7. Serve immediately or keep in the fridge until serving time.

Fun Fact

Yogurt and berry cups are an excellent source of antioxidants, given the presence of berries, and probiotics, thanks to the yogurt. Moreover, these cups can become a tasty and healthy alternative to traditional desserts, perfectly fitting into a nutritious breakfast or an afternoon snack.

Remember that you can also play with the layers, alternating between yogurt and berries more than once, or enrich the cup with chia seeds or flax seeds for an extra dose of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
