White Lasagna with Zucchini and Shrimp
17/11/2023Here is the recipe for making tasty white lasagna with zucchini and shrimp, a dish that combines the sweetness of the zucchini with the delicate flavor of the shrimp, in a very creamy white version.
Ingredients
- 250 g of egg lasagna (fresh or dry that requires pre-cooking)
- 300 g of shelled shrimp
- 3 medium zucchini
- 250 ml of béchamel sauce (you can prepare it or buy it ready-made)
- 1 clove of garlic
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 150 g of mozzarella (or fiordilatte) cut into cubes
- Grated Parmesan cheese to taste
- Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Preparation
- If you are using lasagna that requires pre-cooking, cook it in plenty of salted water following the instructions on the package, then drain and lay it out on a clean tea towel.
- Clean the zucchini and slice them into thin rounds or strips with a vegetable peeler. In a pan, sauté the garlic clove in oil, then remove it and add the zucchini. Sauté them until soft, then season with salt and pepper, and set aside.
- In the same pan, quickly cook the shrimp with a drizzle of oil, just enough time for them to turn pink. Season them lightly with salt and keep them aside.
- Prepare an oven dish by lightly greasing it with oil or butter. Start with a layer of lasagna, then spread some béchamel over it, distribute the zucchini and shrimp, a few cubes of mozzarella, and sprinkle with the Parmesan.
- Add another layer of lasagna and repeat the process until all ingredients are used up, ending with béchamel, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.
- Bake at 180 °C for about 20-30 minutes or until the surface of the lasagna is nicely golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Curiosity
White lasagna is a lighter variant of the classic lasagna with ragù. This version is particularly suitable for summer or for those who prefer more delicate flavors rather than the more decisive taste of meat. Zucchini and shrimp add freshness and a maritime touch to the dish, making it perfect for a special dinner.
If you wish, you can add an herby touch to your lasagna by including fresh aromatic herbs in the last layer or in the béchamel, such as basil or dill, which pair very well with the shrimp.
