White Chocolate Cookies

Here’s a classic recipe for white chocolate cookies.

Ingredients

  • 225 g of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 125 g of soft butter
  • 150 g of granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200 g of white chocolate, chopped into pieces or chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream the butter with the sugar until soft and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture, and continue mixing.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until a homogeneous dough is formed.
  6. Add the white chocolate pieces to the dough and mix well.
  7. Use a spoon to take portions of dough and place them on the baking tray, leaving some space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are slightly golden on the edges.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to complete cooling.

In addition to these ingredients, you could also add chopped hazelnuts or almonds for a crunchy touch or even a pinch of cinnamon for a spicy note. Remember that every oven is slightly different, so keep an eye on your cookies as they bake to prevent them from browning too much.

White chocolate cookies are great on their own, but if you want to dare an Italian touch, you could lightly dust them with grated lemon zest when serving, for a fresh and aromatic contrast with the sweetness of the chocolate.
