Water Glaze

Here’s the recipe for a simple water glaze:

Ingredients

  • 150 g of powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of water (approximately)

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, sift the powdered sugar to remove any lumps.
  2. Add one tablespoon of water at a time to the powdered sugar and stir with a spoon or spatula until you achieve a smooth and homogeneous consistency.
  3. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more water, but be careful to add it gradually; if it’s too runny, add more powdered sugar until you reach the desired consistency.
  4. Once the glaze is ready, it can be used to decorate sweets such as cookies, doughnuts, cupcakes, and more.

Trivia

Water glaze is one of the simplest and quickest glazes to prepare. Its glossy texture and the ability to color it with food coloring make it a very versatile option for decorating a wide range of sweets. Make sure the dessert you are applying it to has completely cooled to prevent the glaze from melting.
