Cookies with Walnuts and Hazelnuts

Here’s a simple recipe to prepare delicious cookies enriched with walnuts and hazelnuts, for a crunchy touch and an unmistakable aroma.

Ingredients

  • 100 g of chopped walnuts
  • 100 g of chopped hazelnuts
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 200 g of all-purpose flour
  • 100 g of butter at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the sugar with the soft butter until you get a creamy mixture.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract and blend well.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  5. Add the chopped hazelnuts and walnuts to the mixture and incorporate them evenly.
  6. Form small balls of dough and arrange them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each one.
  7. Slightly flatten each ball with your hands or the back of a spoon to give the cookies the classic flat shape.
  8. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 15-20 minutes or until they are slightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
