Two-Ingredient Cookies

Two-ingredient cookies are probably one of the simplest preparations we can make. The basic version requires only two ingredients, but they can be enriched with additional ingredients to taste. Here is the basic recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 100g of oat flakes

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork until you have a puree.
  3. Add the oat flakes to the mashed bananas and mix until you have a homogeneous dough.
  4. If desired, you can enrich the dough with ingredients such as chocolate chips, chopped dried fruit, cinnamon, or vanilla to add more flavor to the cookies.
  5. With your hands, form small discs of dough and place them on the tray.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the cookies have a slightly golden and crunchy texture around the edges.
  7. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool before serving.

This is a very versatile basic recipe that you can personalize according to your tastes. If you add other ingredients, keep in mind the balance of flavors and textures. For example, if you add moist ingredients such as chopped fresh fruit, you may need to increase the amount of oat flakes to achieve the desired consistency.

Curiosity

Two-ingredient cookies are a great choice for a healthy and quick snack. Moreover, they are perfect for those following a vegan diet or for those who are lactose intolerant, as they do not contain animal-derived ingredients or dairy. By adapting them with the choice of specific ingredients, they can also be made gluten-free, making them suitable for those who need to avoid this protein.
