Turkey Skewers

Turkey skewers are a delicious and simple dish to prepare, ideal for a barbecue or a casual dinner. Here is how to prepare them.

Ingredients

  • 500g of turkey breast
  • 1 yellow pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 red onion
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Aromatic herbs to taste (thyme, rosemary, oregano)
  • Lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Cut the turkey breast into cubes of about 2-3 cm.
  2. Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and cut them into not too small pieces, similar in size to the turkey cubes.
  3. Wash the zucchini and cut it into rounds about half a centimeter thick.
  4. Peel the red onion and cut it into wedges or fairly large pieces.
  5. In a bowl, put the turkey cubes and season them with oil, salt, pepper, chopped aromatic herbs, and a bit of lemon juice. Mix well and let marinate for about 30 minutes.
  6. Prepare the skewers by alternating meat and vegetables. You can start, for example, with a piece of pepper, then a piece of turkey, followed by a wedge of onion and a slice of zucchini, and so on.
  7. Heat the grill or griddle and cook the skewers, turning them from time to time until the turkey is well cooked and the vegetables are slightly charred on the edges. Cooking should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of the skewers and the intensity of the heat.
  8. Once ready, serve the skewers, preferably hot.
