Turkey Meatballs

Turkey meatballs are a versatile dish and can be adapted in many ways. Here is a basic recipe for making delicious turkey meatballs:

Ingredients

  • 500g of ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 50g of breadcrumbs
  • 50g of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil for cooking

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey with the egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, chopped parsley, and garlic if you choose to use it. Mix well until you reach a homogeneous mixture.
  2. Season the mix with salt and pepper to your liking.
  3. Wet your hands with a little water to prevent the mixture from sticking and begin forming small or medium-sized meatballs, according to your preferences.
  4. Heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan and when hot, add the meatballs.
  5. Cook the meatballs over medium heat, turning them gently from time to time, until they are golden brown and cooked inside. This will take about 10-15 minutes depending on the size of the meatballs.
  6. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the pan and lay them on paper towels to remove any excess oil.
