- Dip the trout fillets in the marinade, making sure they are well covered, and let them rest for about 20-30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- In the meantime, spread a layer of flour on a plate.
- After marinating, dust the trout fillets with the flour, ensuring that they are evenly coated.
- Heat the remaining extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- When the oil is hot, add the floured trout fillets, cooking them for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Deglaze with the leftover marinade liquid and cook for another minute, this will intensify the lemon flavor.
- Adjust the salt and pepper if necessary and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Serve the trout fillets hot, possibly accompanied by a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh mixed salad.
Curiosity
Trout is a freshwater fish rich in Omega-3 and, when cooked with lemon, it not only enhances its delicacy but also benefits from the lemon’s vitamin C, which promotes the absorption of iron contained in the fish.
