Strawberry Sweet Tacos

I can propose a sweet version of tacos that can be served as dessert or as a decadent snack. These sweet tacos will be stuffed with strawberries and a sweet cream, perhaps a blend of mascarpone cheese or custard, and decorated with a final touch of melted chocolate or powdered sugar.

Ingredients

For the taco shells:

  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 30 g of melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

For the filling:

  • 250 g of fresh strawberries
  • 200 g of mascarpone cheese (or custard if you prefer)
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

For decoration (optional):

  • Melted dark chocolate flakes
  • Fresh mint leaves

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  3. Brush the tortillas with melted butter on both sides and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  4. Shape the tortillas so they take on the form of a taco shell, you can use special taco holders or roll them over a spaced oven rack. Bake for 5-7 minutes, until they are slightly crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, wash and cut the strawberries into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Add lemon juice and powdered sugar, stirring gently.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip the mascarpone slightly to make it more spreadable.
  7. Once the taco shells have cooled, spread a generous amount of mascarpone over them, then add the seasoned strawberries.
  8. Decorate with melted chocolate and a dusting of powdered sugar, and if you like, add a few fresh mint leaves.

These strawberry sweet tacos are a creative way to enjoy a dessert that combines Mexican tradition with sweet Italian flavors, thanks to the use of mascarpone that adds that touch of creaminess and richness typical of Italian confectionery.
