Sautéed Rice with Tuna
17/11/2023Here is a recipe to prepare sautéed rice with tuna with an Italian twist:
Ingredients
- 200 g of rice
- 150 g of canned tuna in oil
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley
- (Optional) Cherry tomatoes
- (Optional) Pitted black olives
- (Optional) Capers
Preparation
- Cook the rice in plenty of salted water according to package instructions. Drain it al dente and cool it under running water to stop the cooking process.
- In a large frying pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil with the peeled garlic clove and let it slightly brown.
- Remove the garlic and add the drained tuna. Let it flavor for a minute.
- Add the rice to the pan and sauté everything over high heat, stirring well to mix the flavors.
- If desired, you can add halved cherry tomatoes, olives, and capers at this step.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste and, if you like, some chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve the rice hot.
