Spaghetti with Tuna, Zucchini Flowers, and Broccoli

Spaghetti with tuna, zucchini flowers, and broccoli is a tasty and colorful dish that combines the flavors of the sea with those of the garden. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 320 g of spaghetti
  • 200 g of canned tuna in oil
  • 10 zucchini flowers
  • 200 g of broccoli
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • Chili pepper (optional)

Preparation

  1. Clean the broccoli by separating the florets from the stems and boil them in salted water for about 5-6 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.

  2. In the meantime, in a large frying pan, sauté the garlic cloves in a bit of oil until golden, then remove them. If you like, you can add some chili pepper to give a spicy note to the dish.

  3. Add the drained and crumbled tuna to the pan and let it flavor for a few minutes.

  4. Clean the zucchini flowers by removing the internal pistil and the external sepals, then cut them into strips and add them to the tuna, cooking for another 2 minutes.

  5. Combine the previously boiled broccoli florets with the tuna and zucchini flower mix, adjust the salt and pepper, and let all the flavors blend together.

  6. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti al dente according to the instructions on the package.

  7. Drain the pasta and transfer it into the pan with the tuna, zucchini flowers, and broccoli sauce. Toss it in the pan for a minute to ensure the spaghetti absorbs the flavors well.

  8. Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with chopped parsley for a touch of freshness and color.
