Spaghetti with Cream and Ham

Here is a classic recipe for Spaghetti with Cream and Ham, with an Italian twist:

Ingredients

  • 320 g of spaghetti
  • 200 g of cooked ham, diced or cut into strips
  • 200 ml of cooking cream
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

Preparation

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente.

  3. Add the cooked ham to the pan and sauté for a few minutes.

  4. Pour the cooking cream into the pan, stir and let cook on low heat for a few minutes. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg if you like.

  5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving some of the cooking water.

  6. Add the spaghetti to the pan with the cream and ham and mix well to combine the ingredients, if necessary add a little cooking water to make the sauce creamier.

  7. Turn off the heat and add the Parmesan cheese, stir well until it blends with the sauce.

  8. Serve immediately, adding a grind of black pepper to the dish for those who want it.
