Spaghetti with Crab Meat

Spaghetti with crab meat is a refined and tasty dish, typical of Italian cuisine, which combines the delicacy of crab with pasta. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 350 g of spaghetti
  • 200 g of crab meat (fresh or canned)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chili pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley to taste
  • 100 ml of white wine
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large frying pan, heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sauté the peeled and slightly crushed garlic cloves (and the chili pepper if you like a spicy touch).
  2. Once the garlic is golden, remove it (and the chili pepper if used) and add the crab meat. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes.
  3. Deglaze with the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water according to the package instructions for al dente cooking.
  5. Drain the spaghetti, saving some of the cooking water, and transfer them to the pan with the crab meat.
  6. Mix the spaghetti well with the seasoning, adding some of the cooking water if necessary to make it creamy.
  7. Finish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

For an even more Italian and Mediterranean touch, you might add some halved cherry tomatoes and sauté them together with the crab meat. It is also common to enhance the sauce with a pinch of saffron or some grated lemon zest for a fresher and more aromatic flavor. Enjoy your meal!
