Chicken with soy sauce
17/11/2023Here’s the recipe for chicken with soy sauce with an Italian twist.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 50 ml of soy sauce
- 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 100 ml of chicken broth
Preparation
- Start by cleaning the chicken thighs, removing any residues and patting them dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce with the finely chopped garlic and rosemary. Mix and let the chicken marinate in this mixture for at least 30 minutes in the fridge, turning occasionally.
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and brown the chicken thighs, without the marinade, until they are golden brown on all sides.
- Lower the heat, add the marinade to the chicken in the pan, and cook for about 5 minutes to flavor well.
- Pour the chicken broth and let it cook covered on low heat for about 30 minutes, turning the thighs occasionally, until the chicken is tender and the sauce has reduced and thickened.
- Adjust salt and pepper to your taste.
- Serve hot, possibly accompanied by a side of sautéed vegetables or pilaf rice.
Curiosity
Even though this recipe has clear Asian origins, the addition of rosemary is a touch that recalls Mediterranean flavors. In Italy, we like to add our personal touch to international recipes.
