Blue Shark with Peas and Tomatoes

Blue shark is a type of shark known for its firm and flavorful meat, which lends itself well to various culinary preparations. The combination with peas and tomatoes is a classic of summer cuisine. Here is how you can prepare this dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 blue shark steaks
  • 200 g of fresh or frozen peas
  • 200 g of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Begin by warming a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan and add the peeled garlic clove to flavor the oil.
  2. Once golden, remove the garlic and add the peas (if fresh, blanch them for a few minutes beforehand). Cook for about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, rinse and halve the cherry tomatoes, then add them to the peas. Cook everything for another 5 minutes, until the tomatoes start to soften.
  4. In a separate pan, cook the previously seasoned blue shark steaks with a little oil, for about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on the thickness.
  5. Once the blue shark is cooked, transfer it to the serving plate along with the peas and tomato mix. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  6. If necessary, adjust the salt and pepper before serving.

Serve this dish warm, accompanied by a glass of fresh white wine, perhaps a Vermentino or a Trebbiano, which pairs well with the delicate taste of the fish and the freshness of the vegetables.
