Ingredients
- 1 roll of rectangular puff pastry
- 8-10 medium-sized hot dogs

Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (392 °F) or 180 °C (356 °F) if fan assisted.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into long, narrow strips about 1 cm in width.
- Cut the hot dogs into pieces about 2-3 cm each.
- Skewer a piece of hot dog on a toothpick, and top with an olive at the end.
- Wrap each skewer with a strip of puff pastry, making sure to leave the ends with the hot dog and olive uncovered.
- Beat the egg and gently brush the puff pastry with it.
- (Optional) Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on the skewers to add a crunchy touch.
- Place the skewers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
