Sicilian-style Swordfish
17/11/2023Sicilian-style swordfish is a tasty and flavorful dish that pairs the strong taste of the swordfish with the freshness of citrus fruits and the Mediterranean flavor of capers and olives. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
- 4 slices of swordfish (about 200 g each)
- 2 tablespoons of pitted black olives
- 1 tablespoon of salted capers
- 1 clove of garlic
- Parsley to taste
- Juice of 1 orange
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Extra virgin olive oil to taste
Preparation
- Start by rinsing the capers under running water to remove excess salt. Cut the black olives into rounds and set aside.
- Wash the tomatoes, remove the skin and seeds, and cut them into small cubes.
- Take a large pan and heat a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Add the garlic and, once golden, remove it and place the swordfish slices in the pan.
- Cook the swordfish for about 3-4 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the swordfish from the pan and keep it warm.
- In the same pan, add the tomato cubes, capers, and olives. Let them flavor for a few minutes.
- Add the orange and lemon juice and let the sauce reduce slightly.
- Arrange the swordfish slices on the plates and drizzle with the citrus, capers, and olives sauce. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
