Shrimp and Potato Balls
17/11/2023Here is the recipe for tasty Italian-style shrimp and potato balls.
Ingredients
- 300 g of cleaned shrimp
- 400 g of potatoes
- 1 egg
- 40 g of grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Breadcrumbs as needed
- Oil for frying
Preparation

Start by boiling the potatoes in salted water until they are tender. Once ready, peel them and mash with a potato masher until you get a puree.

In the meantime, chop the shrimp into small pieces (if you prefer you can also coarsely chop them with a knife or a mixer).

In a bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with the chopped shrimp. Add the egg, Parmesan, chopped fresh parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to obtain a homogeneous mixture.

Take portions of the mixture and form them into balls. If the mixture is too soft, you can add some breadcrumbs to absorb the moisture.

Roll the balls in breadcrumbs until they are evenly covered.

Heat plenty of oil in a pan and, once hot, fry the balls until they become golden and crunchy on all sides.

Drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serve the shrimp and potato balls hot, perhaps accompanied by a truffle sauce or a simple mayonnaise.
