Sesame Chicken Breasts

Sesame chicken breasts are a tasty and rather simple dish to prepare. Here’s a version that includes an Italian twist, of course!

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (about 400g)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour, as needed for dusting the chicken breasts
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g of sesame seeds
  • Extra virgin olive oil for cooking
  • 50g of butter (to add creaminess and Italian flavor)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (to add a touch of freshness)

Preparation

  1. Start by cleaning the chicken breasts, slicing them in half horizontally if they are very thick, to have thinner scaloppine that will cook more evenly and quickly.

  2. Gently flatten them with a meat tenderizer, then season with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Prepare three deep plates: put the flour in one, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt in the second, and put the sesame seeds in the third plate.

  4. Coat each chicken breast first in the flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally press it into the sesame seeds, ensuring they adhere well to the entire surface.

  5. Heat a pan with the olive oil and add the butter.

  6. Once the butter has melted and the pan is hot, cook the chicken breasts on both sides until they are well browned and the meat is cooked internally (about 3-4 minutes per side, but depends on the thickness of the chicken).

  7. Deglaze with lemon juice to bring a note of acidity and serve immediately while hot.

This recipe embraces the crispiness of the sesame seeds and adds an Italian touch with the butter and lemon, which bring a delicious balance of flavor and aroma to the dish. Serve with a side of seasonal grilled vegetables or a fresh salad. Enjoy your meal!
