Sesame Biscuits
17/11/2023Sesame biscuits are a simple and crunchy sweet, perfect to accompany tea or coffee. Here’s the recipe, with an Italian twist.
Ingredients
- 250 grams of all-purpose flour
- 100 grams of sugar
- 100 grams of butter
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder for sweets
- 50 grams of milk
- 100 grams of sesame seeds
- Vanilla (a pod or extract) to taste
Preparation
- In a bowl, cream the soft butter with the sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and continue to work the mixture, then incorporate the vanilla.
- Separately, mix the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add these dry ingredients to the creamy mixture, gradually adding the milk, until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Prepare a plate with sesame seeds.
- Detach small portions of dough and form into balls, then roll them in the sesame seeds until completely covered.
- Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, slightly flattening them to shape into biscuits.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 °C for about 15-20 minutes or until golden.
- Let the biscuits cool on a rack before serving.
