Seared Tuna

Seared Tuna is a sophisticated and flavorful dish that preserves the fish’s freshness with a quick sear. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh tuna steaks, about 200 g each
  • White and black sesame seeds, as needed
  • Salt and pepper, as needed
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Soy sauce (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh grated ginger (optional, for serving)

Preparation

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. Season the tuna with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Coat the tuna steaks with sesame seeds, pressing them on lightly so they stick well.

  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over high heat with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

  5. Once the oil is hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan and sear for about 1 minute per side. The inside should remain pink while the outside forms a crispy sesame crust.

  6. Remove from the pan and let rest for a minute.

  7. Slice the tuna into thin slices and dress with a splash of fresh lemon juice.

  8. Serve immediately, optionally with soy sauce and fresh ginger for an added flavor touch.

Seared Tuna is perfect if you’re looking for a light but tasty dish. Enjoy your meal!
