Fun Facts
The red radicchio, typical of the Veneto region, is a vegetable known for its slightly bitter taste which complements the sweetness of the sausage well. This pie can be enriched by adding chopped walnuts for a crunchy touch or a sprinkling of gorgonzola for a more intense flavor.
If you prefer an even more Italian combination, you might try using typical ingredients from a particular Italian region, such as Tuscan wild boar sausages or add smoked provola from Campania instead of grated cheese for a touch of personality.
