Savory Doughnut with Ham and Cheese

Ingredients
- 350 g of all-purpose flour
- 200 ml of lukewarm milk
- 80 ml of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet of baking powder for savory cakes (about 16 g)
- 150 g of cooked ham, diced
- 180 g of stringy cheese (such as scamorza), diced
- 50 g of grated cheese (Parmesan or Pecorino)
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Butter and flour for greasing and flouring the mold
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C and grease and flour a doughnut mold.
- In a bowl, mix eggs with oil and lukewarm milk.
- Add the grated cheese and mix well to combine.
- Mix in sifted flour and baking powder, salt, and pepper, and stir until smooth and homogeneous.
- Add the cooked ham and diced cheese to the mixture and stir gently to distribute them evenly.
- Pour the batter into the prepared doughnut mold.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the savory doughnut is golden brown and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the doughnut cool in the mold for a few minutes, then transfer it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
