Limoncino Salmon
17/11/2023Limoncino salmon is a simple and tasty preparation that enhances the flavor of the fish with the freshness of citrus. Here is the recipe for a deliciously fragrant dish.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon steaks (about 200 g each)
- 2 untreated lemons
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sprig of fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon of dry thyme)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Chopped fresh parsley, to garnish
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (180 °C if fan-assisted).
- Wash the lemons and slice them into thin rounds.
- Take a baking sheet or an oven-proof dish and line it with parchment paper.
- Arrange half of the lemon slices on the parchment paper, creating a “bed” for the salmon steaks.
- Season the salmon steaks with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. If possible, also squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the fish to intensify its flavor.
- Place the salmon steaks on the lemon bed in the baking sheet, then cover them with the remaining lemon slices.
- Add the crushed garlic cloves (you can leave them unpeeled) and fresh thyme over and around the salmon.
- Bake the salmon for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish reaches the desired doneness.
- Once ready, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
