Salmon and Pea Pasta

Salmon and pea pasta is a creamy and flavorful dish, perfect for a lunch or dinner aiming to combine the strong taste of smoked salmon with the sweetness of peas. Here is the recipe for 4 people:

Ingredients

  • 320 g of pasta (penne, bow ties or spaghetti)
  • 200 g of smoked salmon
  • 150 g of fresh or frozen peas
  • 1 shallot
  • 200 ml of cooking cream
  • 1/2 glass of dry white wine
  • Extra virgin olive oil (as needed)
  • Salt and pepper (as needed)
  • 1 sprig of fresh dill (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional)

Preparation

  1. Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. Once the water is boiling, cook the pasta according to the package instructions for al dente.

  2. While waiting for the water to boil, finely chop the shallot and slice the smoked salmon into strips.

  3. In a large pan, heat some extra virgin olive oil and sauté the chopped shallot until it becomes translucent.

  4. Add the peas to the pan and let them cook for a few minutes, adjusting with salt and pepper.

  5. Deglaze with the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate.

  6. Incorporate the smoked salmon and let it flavor for a couple of minutes.

  7. Pour in the cooking cream and cook over low heat until the sauce starts to slightly thicken. If desired, you can add a teaspoon of lemon juice to give a touch of freshness to the sauce.

  8. Drain the al dente pasta and transfer it to the pan with the sauce. Gently stir to combine the pasta with the salmon and pea sauce.

  9. Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped fresh dill on top, if you wish.
