17/11/2023Salmon and pea pasta is a creamy and flavorful dish, perfect for a lunch or dinner aiming to combine the strong taste of smoked salmon with the sweetness of peas. Here is the recipe for 4 people:
Ingredients
- 320 g of pasta (penne, bow ties or spaghetti)
- 200 g of smoked salmon
- 150 g of fresh or frozen peas
- 1 shallot
- 200 ml of cooking cream
- 1/2 glass of dry white wine
- Extra virgin olive oil (as needed)
- Salt and pepper (as needed)
- 1 sprig of fresh dill (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional)
Preparation
-
Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. Once the water is boiling, cook the pasta according to the package instructions for al dente.
-
While waiting for the water to boil, finely chop the shallot and slice the smoked salmon into strips.
-
In a large pan, heat some extra virgin olive oil and sauté the chopped shallot until it becomes translucent.
-
Add the peas to the pan and let them cook for a few minutes, adjusting with salt and pepper.
-
Deglaze with the white wine and let the alcohol evaporate.
-
Incorporate the smoked salmon and let it flavor for a couple of minutes.
-
Pour in the cooking cream and cook over low heat until the sauce starts to slightly thicken. If desired, you can add a teaspoon of lemon juice to give a touch of freshness to the sauce.
-
Drain the al dente pasta and transfer it to the pan with the sauce. Gently stir to combine the pasta with the salmon and pea sauce.
-
Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped fresh dill on top, if you wish.
