Rustic Fried Meatballs

Rustic fried meatballs are a delicious dish that combines simple but rich flavors. Here’s how to prepare them:

Ingredients

  • 500 g of ground meat (pork, beef, or a mix of the two)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g of stale bread
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 50 g of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Parsley to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

  1. Start by soaking the stale bread in milk to soften it.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground meat with the eggs, the squeezed bread, the Parmesan, finely chopped garlic, and also chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Work the ingredients together until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Take portions of the mixture and form meatballs the size of a walnut, then roll them in breadcrumbs to cover evenly.
  5. Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan, and once it has reached the right temperature, fry the meatballs until they become golden and crisp on all sides.
  6. As they are ready, drain the meatballs on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the rustic fried meatballs hot, perhaps accompanied by a sauce of your choice, such as classic ketchup or a yogurt and herb sauce.
