Ricotta flans
17/11/2023Here is the recipe for ricotta flans, simple and delicious, perfect for an appetizer or a light second course.
Ingredients
- 250 g of fresh ricotta
- 2 eggs
- 50 g of grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Nutmeg to taste
- Butter and breadcrumbs for the molds
- Finely chopped aromatic herbs to taste (e.g., thyme, marjoram, basil) (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
- Butter and sprinkle breadcrumbs into the molds you intend to use for the flans.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta with the eggs until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- Add the Parmesan, a pinch of salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg to taste. If you like, you can also add finely chopped aromatic herbs for an extra touch of flavor.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared molds, not filling them to the brim to allow the flans to puff up during cooking.
- Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the flans are well browned and puffy.
- Let them cool slightly before unmolding the flans from their molds.
You can serve the ricotta flans accompanied by a light tomato sauce or a fresh salad.
