Ricotta and Chocolate Cake

  • 250 grams of ricotta
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 150 grams of flour 00

  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Grated zest of 1 lemon (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the sugar until you have a light and fluffy mixture.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to incorporate each egg before adding the next.
  4. Add the ricotta and, if you wish, the grated lemon zest, mixing gently until the mixture becomes homogeneous.
  5. Add the sifted flour with the baking powder and the pinch of salt, incorporating it gradually to avoid lumps.

  9. Once baked, let the cake cool before removing it from the cake pan.
