Ricotta and Chocolate Doughnuts
17/11/2023Ricotta and chocolate doughnuts are soft, indulgent treats that are well-suited for both breakfast and snack time. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
- 250 g of ricotta cheese
- 100 g of sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 g of type 00 flour
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder for sweets
- A pinch of salt
- 100 g of chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar (for decoration)
- Butter and flour for the mold (or parchment paper)
Preparation
- In a bowl, work the ricotta with the sugar until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- Add the egg and continue to mix.
- Gradually combine the sifted flour with the baking powder and pinch of salt, continuing to mix until the mixture is smooth and without lumps.
- Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Prepare a doughnut mold by greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour, or by lining it with parchment paper.
- Fill the mold with the batter, being careful to fill it only up to 3/4 of the height, as the doughnuts will rise during baking.
- Bake the doughnuts for approximately 20-25 minutes or until they are golden and well risen.
- Remove the doughnuts from the oven and let them cool before unmolding.
- Dust the doughnuts with powdered sugar before serving.
Curiosity
In many Italian regions, ricotta is used in pastry making to add creaminess and a delicate flavor to sweets. The chocolate chips slightly melt during baking, creating a pleasant contrast in textures and flavors with the softer part of the doughnut.
Enjoy your preparation and bon appétit!
