Pizza muffin

Pizza Muffins are an original and fun recipe for an appetizer or a snack inspired by the flavors of pizza, but in the form of a muffin. Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients

  • 250 g of flour
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 80 ml of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 sachet of instant yeast for savory preparations
  • 100 g of mozzarella
  • 50 g of diced salami or cubed cooked ham
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • Oregano to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing the muffin pan

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour with the yeast for savory preparations and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, and olive oil to the flour mixture and blend well until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
  4. Cut the mozzarella into cubes and add it to the mixture along with the salami or cooked ham and tomato paste. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  5. Also add a pinch of oregano, according to your taste.
  6. Butter and flour the muffin molds or line them with paper cups.
  7. Fill the molds about 3/4 full with the dough, making sure to evenly distribute the solid ingredients.
  8. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the muffins are golden brown and well risen. You can use a toothpick to test for doneness: if it comes out clean when inserted into the center of a muffin, they are ready.
  9. Let the Pizza Muffins cool for a few minutes before unmolding and serve.
