Peanut, Hazelnut, and Almond Butter
17/11/2023I can guide you in preparing nut butters that are flavorful and nutritious. Let’s start with peanut butter, then move on to hazelnut butter and finally almond butter. Here are the recipes, one by one.
Peanut Butter
Ingredients
- 400 g of roasted and unsalted peanuts
- Salt to taste (optional)
- Peanut oil or neutral oil (optional)
Preparation
- Further toast the peanuts in the oven at 180 °C for about 10 minutes to enhance the flavor, if necessary. Let them cool down.
- Place the peanuts in a blender and begin to blend.
- Continue blending until the peanuts begin to release their natural oils and the texture becomes creamy. This might take a few minutes.
- If you prefer a softer and more spreadable butter, you can add a little peanut oil or a neutral oil.
- Adjust the salt if necessary, and blend a little more to mix.
- Store the peanut butter in an airtight jar in the refrigerator.
Hazelnut Butter
Ingredients
- 300 g of roasted skinless hazelnuts
Preparation
- Toast the hazelnuts in the oven at 180 °C for about 10-15 minutes, until they are golden and fragrant.
- Let the hazelnuts cool, then blend them in a food processor until you get a smooth, uniform paste. This process can take up to 15 minutes, as you will need to stop occasionally to cool the motor and scrape down the ingredients from the sides of the container.
- Once the desired consistency is achieved, transfer the hazelnut butter to a glass jar with a lid.
Almond Butter
Ingredients
- 300 g of roasted almonds
Preparation
- As with the hazelnuts, toast the almonds at 180 °C for about 10-15 minutes or until golden and aromatic.
- Let the almonds cool, then proceed to blend them in a food processor until a soft cream is obtained. Here as well, it might be necessary to give the motor time to cool down during the process.
- Transfer the almond butter to a suitable container and store in the refrigerator.
Nut butters are perfect for spreading on toasted bread, adding to smoothies, or as an ingredient for making cookies and sweets. Remember that, not containing preservatives, it is best to consume them within a few weeks of preparation.
