Trivia

The plumcake, despite its name, does not have Italian origins, but is a classic of Anglo-Saxon cuisine. It is a tea-time cake, great to accompany with a good coffee or a cup of tea in the afternoon. The peach version is a summer variation that adds freshness and softness to the dessert. If you want to add an Italian touch, you could enrich the batter with a little Amaretto di Saronno, which goes well with the flavor of the peaches.
