Pasta with Surimi and Curry
17/11/2023Pasta with surimi and curry is a dish that combines sea flavors with exotic spices. Here is how to prepare this dish, enhanced with an Italian touch that could be the addition of some finely chopped fresh parsley for garnish or the use of a good extra virgin olive oil for sautéing.
Ingredients
- 320 grams of pasta (penne or spaghetti are just fine)
- 200 grams of surimi (crab sticks)
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 200 ml of cooking cream
- 2 teaspoons of curry powder
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional)
Preparation
-
Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil for cooking the pasta. When the water boils, cook the pasta al dente according to the package directions.
-
Meanwhile, thinly slice the onion and garlic. In a large pan, heat some olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until they become translucent.
-
Cut the surimi sticks into not too thin rounds and add them to the pan with the sautéed onion and garlic.
-
Sprinkle the curry powder over the surimi and sautéed mixture and mix well to flavor it all.
-
Pour the cooking cream into the pan, bring to a light boil, then lower the heat and let the sauce thicken for a few minutes. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
-
Drain the pasta al dente and pour it into the pan with the surimi and curry sauce. Mix well to combine the ingredients.
-
If desired, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving, to add a touch of color and freshness to the dish.
