Veal Bites with Paprika

Veal bites with paprika are a tasty and relatively simple dish to prepare. Here’s how to do it:

Ingredients

  • 500 g of veal, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 200 ml of beef broth
  • 100 ml of cream
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnishing)

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour with paprika, salt, and pepper. Coat the veal cubes in this mixture until well covered.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the floured veal cubes. Brown the meat until golden on all sides.
  3. Remove the bites from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the chopped onion and garlic, and fry until they become translucent.
  5. Put the veal bites back in the pan with the onion and garlic, add the beef broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Lower the heat, cover, and let simmer for about 1 hour or until the meat is tender.
  7. Add the cream and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  8. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if necessary.
  9. Serve the veal bites with paprika sprinkled with chopped fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Note:

If you want an Italian twist on this dish, you could use fresh rosemary instead of parsley and a splash of white wine before adding the broth to deglaze the pan and add an additional layer of flavor. A drizzle of raw extra virgin olive oil before serving is always welcome.

Enjoy your meal!
