Pandoro star with chocolate cream

The “Pandoro star with chocolate cream” is a delicious dessert that transforms the traditional pandoro into something even more special, thanks to the addition of a creamy chocolate filling. Here’s how to prepare it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pandoro
  • 250 ml of whipping cream
  • 150 g of dark chocolate
  • 30 g of powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation

  1. To start, slice the pandoro horizontally into about 2 cm thick slices to create stars.
  2. Prepare the chocolate cream. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt it in a double boiler or gently in the microwave, taking care not to burn it.
  3. In a bowl, whip the cold cream from the refrigerator until it becomes frothy and holds peaks. If you wish to sweeten the cream, add the powdered sugar while you whip it.
  4. Once the chocolate has slightly cooled, fold it gently into the whipped cream, mixing from the bottom up to not deflate the mixture.
  5. Take a pandoro star and spread a generous layer of chocolate cream on the surface.
  6. Layer another star slightly offset so that the “points” of the star underneath are visible. Continue to alternate layers of pandoro and chocolate cream.
  7. Complete your Pandoro star with chocolate cream with a dusting of powdered sugar for an even more spectacular effect.
  8. Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving, so that the cream sets a bit.
