Pandoro and Coffee Shot Glasses

Pandoro and coffee shot glasses are a delicious dessert that can be easily prepared and are perfect for repurposing leftover pandoro during the holidays. Here is the recipe with an Italian touch.

Ingredients

  • Pandoro, as much as needed to fill the shot glasses
  • Espresso coffee, enough to soak the pandoro
  • Mascarpone, 250 g
  • Powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for garnishing
  • Coffee liqueur or Marsala, 2 tablespoons (optional)

Preparation

  1. Start by preparing the espresso coffee and let it cool down. If you wish, you can add some coffee liqueur such as Marsala or a coffee liqueur to flavor it.
  2. Cut the pandoro into small cubes, so that they can fit into the shot glasses you have chosen for the dessert.
  3. In a bowl, work the mascarpone with the powdered sugar until it becomes a soft and smooth cream.
  4. Quickly soak the pandoro cubes in the cold coffee (and liqueur, if used) and create a first layer of soaked pandoro at the bottom of each shot glass.
  5. Add a layer of mascarpone cream over the pandoro.
  6. Continue with another layer of pandoro and then more mascarpone, until the shot glasses are filled.
  7. To finish, dust a light layer of unsweetened cocoa powder on the surface of the shot glasses for a final decorative touch.

If you wish, you can further customize these shot glasses by adding, between layers, chocolate flakes or a dusting of chopped hazelnuts to add crunch to the dessert.

Enjoy this simple and tasty reinterpretation of the classic tiramisu, perfect for any type of celebration or as a comfort food dessert!
