17/11/2023The pancarré rolls with ham and cheese are a simple and quick dish, perfect for an appetizer or a snack.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of pancarré
- 4 slices of cooked ham
- 4 slices of sliced cheese (for example, emmental, fontina, or mozzarella)
- A bit of butter or olive oil to grease
- Salt and pepper to taste (if desired)
- Aromatic herbs for garnish (for example, oregano or thyme, if you like)
Preparation
- Start by slightly flattening the pancarré slices with a rolling pin to make them more malleable.
- Lay a slice of cooked ham on each slice of pancarré, and then place a slice of cheese on top of the ham. If you want, you can add a pinch of salt and pepper here.
- Roll the pancarré tightly from one of the shorter sides to create the rolls.
- After rolling the pancarré, you might want to secure the roll with a toothpick to keep its shape.
- Lightly grease the rolls with some melted butter or olive oil.
- Cook the rolls in a hot non-stick pan until golden brown, or if you prefer, you can also bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the rolls from the oven or pan and serve them hot, perhaps with a sprinkling of fresh aromatic herbs for an extra touch of flavor.
