Orange Tiramisu
17/11/2023Orange Tiramisu is a citrusy twist on the classic Italian dessert. Here’s how to prepare this delicious version.
Ingredients
- 4 egg yolks
- 100 g of sugar
- 500 g of mascarpone
- 300 ml of fresh orange juice
- 1 untreated orange (grated zest)
- Ladyfinger biscuits as needed
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- Optional: orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau) for flavoring
Preparation
- In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until you have a light and frothy mixture.
- Incorporate the mascarpone into the egg yolk and sugar mixture, gently mixing until you have a uniform cream.
- Add the grated zest of an orange to flavor the cream.
- In a deep plate, pour the orange juice and, if desired, add a bit of orange liqueur.
- Dip the ladyfinger biscuits quickly into the orange juice, being careful not to soak them too much.
- Create a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a baking dish or suitable container.
- Overlap a layer of mascarpone cream, then continue alternating layers until all ingredients are used up.
- Finish with a layer of mascarpone cream.
- Cover the dessert with cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours. This will allow the flavors to blend together optimally.
- Before serving, dust the tiramisu with unsweetened cocoa powder.
