Oat Baskets Filled with Yogurt
17/11/2023Oat baskets filled with yogurt are a delicious and healthy option for breakfast or a snack. Let me describe how to make them with an Italian touch. For example, you can enhance your yogurt with Italian fruit jam or add a pinch of vanilla or lemon zest for flavor.
Ingredients
- 100 g of oat flakes
- 2 tablespoons of honey (or maple syrup if you prefer)
- 30 g of melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- Greek yogurt or another yogurt of your choice
- Fresh fruit for garnish (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi or other seasonal fruit)
- Jam (optional)
- Vanilla or lemon zest (optional)
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- In a bowl, mix the oat flakes with the honey, melted butter (or coconut oil), and a pinch of salt until you have a uniform mixture.
- Take some muffin molds and distribute the oat mixture into the cavities, pressing well on the bottom and sides to form the baskets.
- Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges begin to brown.
- Let cool completely before gently removing the baskets from the molds.
- Once cooled, fill each basket with Greek yogurt and decorate with cut fresh fruit.
- If desired, add a spoonful of jam at the bottom of the basket before adding the yogurt, and flavor the yogurt with a pinch of vanilla or grated lemon zest.
Curiosity
The oat baskets are a great source of fiber and the inclusion of yogurt will provide you with a good dose of protein. This recipe is adaptable: you can replace the honey with other sweeteners, or the oats with a mix of cereals. Furthermore, you can customize the baskets with different types of yogurt, such as coconut yogurt for a more exotic taste, or use lactose-free yogurt for those who are intolerant.
