Tagliatelle Nests

Tagliatelle nests are an elegant and tasty way to present pasta, especially for special occasions. Here’s how to prepare them:

Ingredients

  • 250 g of egg tagliatelle
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 100 g of cured ham
  • 200 ml of cooking cream
  • Grated Parmesan cheese to taste
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Nutmeg to taste (optional)
  • Butter and breadcrumbs for the ramekins

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Cook the tagliatelle in plenty of salted water according to the package directions to keep them al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  3. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the cured ham cut into strips, letting it sauté lightly.
  4. Add the cream to the skillet and let it heat up well, season with salt, pepper, and a grating of nutmeg.
  5. Tip the tagliatelle into the skillet with the sauce and toss everything to blend the pasta well with the sauce.
  6. Butter some muffin or flan ramekins and sprinkle them lightly with breadcrumbs. Distribute the tagliatelle into the individual ramekins, twisting them to form nests.
  7. Sprinkle each nest with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake the nests for about 10-15 minutes or until the surface is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Gently remove the nests from the ramekins and serve hot.
