Cake in a Cup

  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of seed oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 egg
  • (Optional) 1 tablespoon of Nutella or instant coffee for an Italian touch

Preparation

  1. In a large microwave-safe cup, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
  2. Add the egg and mix well with a fork until fully incorporated.
  3. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract and mix until you have a smooth batter.
  4. If you wish to add an Italian flavor, you can now put a spoonful of Nutella in the center of the batter without stirring or a teaspoon of instant coffee in the batter and mix it in.
  5. Microwave on high power for about 1-2 minutes. Cooking time can vary depending on the power of your microwave, so keep an eye on the cake and do tests to understand the perfect timing.
  6. Let the cake cool for a minute before enjoying it directly from the cup.
