Chocolate Chip Muffins

Chocolate chip muffins are a classic treat loved by both adults and children. Here’s the recipe you can follow:

Ingredients

  • 250 g of all-purpose flour
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 100 g of melted butter
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 150 g of chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F) and prepare a muffin tin, lining the individual spaces with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, sift the flour together with the baking powder and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the now lukewarm melted butter to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) alternating with the milk, taking care to gently mix to avoid deflating the batter.
  6. Add the vanilla extract and the chocolate chips, stirring with a spatula until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  7. Fill the paper liners about 2/3 of their height.
  8. Bake the muffins for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool before serving.

Curiosity

Muffins are a very versatile preparation and can be enriched with various types of ingredients, from chopped nuts to dried fruit, to aromatic substances like cinnamon or citrus zest.

For an even more Italian variant, you could replace the chocolate chips with roughly chopped Modica chocolate, which will give your muffins a unique flavor and a pleasant crunchiness.

Have fun in the kitchen and enjoy your meal!
