Chocolate and Strawberry Muffins

I can suggest a delicious variation of chocolate muffins with the addition of strawberries, which brings a touch of freshness to the sweetness of the chocolate, creating an exquisite combination.

Ingredients

  • 150 g of fresh strawberries
  • 200 g of all-purpose flour
  • 50 g of cocoa powder
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 80 ml of vegetable oil
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C and prepare a muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces, then set aside.
  3. In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you have a light and fluffy mixture.
  5. Add the milk and oil to the egg and sugar mixture, mixing well.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the liquid mixture, mixing with a spatula until you have a homogenous batter, but do not overwork it.
  7. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips into the batter, distributing them evenly.
  8. Fill the paper liners up to ¾ of their capacity with the batter.
  9. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the muffins cool on a wire rack before serving.

Curiosity

Muffins are perfect for breakfast or as a snack, but the chocolate and strawberry pairing also makes them suitable for concluding a meal as a dessert. Moreover, strawberries not only add flavor and moisture, but can also make the muffin texture lighter compared to a chocolate-only version. Bon appétit!
