Ingredients

Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter and flour a round cake pan of about 24 cm in diameter.
- Peel the pears, remove the core, and slice them thinly.
- In a large bowl, sift the flour with the cocoa, baking powder, and pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the melted butter (or oil) and milk to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring well to blend the ingredients.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients into the liquid mixture, mixing to avoid lumps.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave and add it to the batter, stirring until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, arrange a layer of pear slices, and cover with the remaining batter.
- Finish with an additional layer of pear slices on top.
- Bake in the oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
