Jam Puff Pastry Swirls

Jam puff pastry swirls are a simple and quick dessert to make, perfect for an indulgent breakfast or snack. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 roll of ready-made rectangular puff pastry
  • 200 g of jam of your choice (strawberry, apricot, cherry, etc.)
  • Icing sugar for decorating (optional)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Gently unroll the puff pastry on a work surface.
  3. Evenly spread the jam on the surface of the puff pastry, leaving a small border free along the edges to prevent it from spilling out during cooking.
  4. Roll up the puff pastry from the long side, taking care not to let the jam spill out.
  5. Once you have a roll, place it in the fridge for about 15 minutes to harden slightly, which will make cutting easier.
  6. Remove the puff pastry roll from the fridge and cut it into slices about 2 cm thick.
  7. Arrange the swirls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each one.
  8. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the swirls are golden and flaky.
  9. Let cool on a wire rack and, if you wish, sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
