Ice Cream Waffle
17/11/2023Ice cream waffles are a delicious dessert that combines the crunchiness of warm waffles with the freshness of ice cream. Here’s how to prepare them with an Italian twist.
Ingredients
- 250g of flour
- 30g of sugar
- 1 sachet of baking powder for sweets
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 eggs, separated
- 90g of melted and cooled butter
- 300ml of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Ice cream (flavor of choice, but classic fiordilatte or cream work well with everything)
- Fresh fruit (for example, strawberries or raspberries) to garnish
- Chocolate or caramel syrup, to taste
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, lightly beat the egg yolks and then add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the liquid ingredients with the dry ones and mix until the mixture is smooth.
- Whip the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the batter to make the waffles fluffier.
- Preheat the waffle iron and, once hot, pour a ladle of the batter for each waffle. Cook until they are golden and crispy.
- Serve the hot waffles with a scoop of ice cream in the center, garnish with fresh fruit, and drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup to taste.
